Transmission projects are different from other linear projects in many ways. Due to long span lengths between towers and its ground clearance, transmission lines co-exist with nature. Although felling of trees is required during the construction work, natural regeneration is allowed to come up after the stringing work is completed on the towers. Further, the project does not disrupt any ecologically sensitive zone like Thane creek, mangroves, etc. Also, the transmission lines do not dispose waste material and hazardous substances in land, air and water and hence, are non-polluting and environment friendly.
